Hal began his journey into the car business in Billings in 1978 when he asked a friend if he knew where he could find a sales position that would allow him to be home with his family. As he grew in the business, he found that he could just about find the right car for almost anyone. His return customers confirm that.
But the real fun began when the guys met each other a Cadillac dealership in Minneapolis in 1982. Over time, the two of them found that they work together like peanut butter and jam on white bread. The relationship stuck, so to speak! Hal moved back West in 1993; Jon finally joined him in 1995.
Because Aspen Motors is less like a car dealership than coffee with good friends, on any given day, you may meet Shane or Belle, Jon and Launi's German Shepherds. Sometimes Rosie, Nelson or Bubba, Hal and Barbara's pugs, make an appearance. The partners' grown children often just drop in as do people from other car dealerships! Join us any day to talk cars or the MSU teams! Our new customers tell us that our old customers sent them our way. Every day is an adventure and as Jon puts it, "When it isn't fun anymore, it's time to quit!" Enjoying what they do brings benefits to you!

Jon began his sales career as a teenager buying and restoring farm vehicles in Iowa. He had a knack for finding just the right car for the right person. For Jon, half the fun was just getting to know people. And as a result, he was able to help himself through college at the University of Iowa.
